A cot bed, on the other hand, can convert into a toddler-sized bed, making it suitable for your child up to five years old. While a cot bed is slightly larger and takes up more room than a cot, it does mean that it’s a versatile and long-lasting option, hence there are more available in cotbed size

Babies can go into a cot from birth. It’s designed to provide a safe and secure sleeping environment for newborns. Just ensure the cot is set up according to safety guidelines and your baby will sleep soundly from day one. Most are adjustable in height so, as baby grows, the base lowers.

For your baby’s safety, use a firm, flat mattress that fits snugly in the cot, fully breathable and anti-allergenic. Sprung will last longer and provide better support. Ensure it is the correct size and safety standard specifically for your cot or cotbed. We provide a range of mattress options. You’ll also need a fitted sheet, and during colder months, you can add a lightweight cellular blanket or a baby sleeping bag. Avoid using pillows, duvets, or quilts for babies under 12 months old to reduce the risk of suffocation. All babies’ bedding will state the age of use to be sure.
