What is the best pushchair for me and my family? arrow

A pushchair is one of the most important purchases you’ll make for your little one. As such, there are lots of things to consider when choosing your perfect pushchair. Here are a few things to keep in mind…

  • Usage: Lightweight models are great for city living where you may need to fold your pushchair up to hop on public transport at a moment’s notice. Larger models will provide greater comfort, manoeuvrability and storage – great for big days out! Got two little bundles of joy? Check out our range of double and twin pushchairs.
  • Foldability: Easy-to-fold pushchairs are convenient for transportation and storage.
  • Adjustability: Look for adjustable seats, handlebars, and footrests to accommodate your growing child – and the various people who’ll be pushing them around!
  • Safety Features: Ensure it has a secure harness, good brakes, and sturdy construction to keep your little one safe and snug.
  • Budget: Prices vary, however there are many excellent value options that don’t compromise on safety or comfort.
Pushchairs, prams, strollers and buggies - what’s the difference? arrow

Although many parents use these terms interchangeably, each of these perform a different job. Prams have a carrycot and a lie-flat seat unit and are to be used during your baby’s first few months right through to older years. On the other hand, pushchairs are essentially a folding seat on wheels, making them a great option for toddlers and small children. Strollers, which are sometimes referred to as buggies, are a simple, lightweight and compact version of a pushchair often used for travelling with a toddler.

What age should a baby go in a pushchair? arrow

Until your baby’s neck and head muscles have developed, you should keep them in a lie-flat position whilst travelling, for example, in a pram with carrycot. Once your little one has gained head control (usually at around 6 months, but every baby’s development is different!), you can start transitioning to the seat unit part or buggy or pushchair.

What essentials do I need when travelling with a toddler? arrow

Whether you’re going on holiday or just nipping out to the park, leaving the house with a toddler can sometimes feel like a military operation. Make sure to pack a large bag with nappies (and plenty of them!), wipes, a toy, sun protection, water, snacks, bibs, and plasters for any scrapes that can’t be fixed with a magic kiss alone.

How do I clean a pushchair? arrow

Keeping your pushchair clean not only ensures it’s a safe and pleasant environment for your child, but it also extends the pushchair’s lifespan to get even better value for your money. You’ll get specific cleaning advice included in the manufacturer’s instructions, but you should try to remove crumbs with a handheld vacuum, regularly wipe down the frame and fabric seat with a damp cloth and mild soap, and hose down the wheels should things take a muddy turn. Once cleaned, let the pushchair dry completely to avoid mould and mildew. We then recommend you maintain moving parts like wheels with furniture polish or silicone spray rather than oil which attracts dirt.
